TashaShazali rated Rot in Paradise

A downloadable game for Windows and macOS.

A sad drama-horror with a subtle yet important lesson.

While playing the game, I was expecting some murder mystery or maybe a thriller twist, or maybe some kind of supernatural horror where spooky ghosts are involved. I can confidently say that I DID NOT expect the game to be this DARK. Like, people suddenly became irrational for unknown reasons, her friends suddenly turned their backs on her, and even in the end, June couldn't do anything to save her friends and escape together alive

While I do find the ending sad, I realize how the words from the beginning of the game finally make sense, when I remember what Ryan told June about how she should just cut ties with people 'who only treat her like garbage.' While it was really subtle, it does show how sometimes even when we do care so much about somebody, if the same person didn't care or treat you horribly, it is safe to say that as much as it hurts, it's best to totally leave them behind. After all "Bad company corrupts good character."

TL DR, I guess all I want to say is that I enjoy this story so much. The twist blends in perfectly without feeling rushed. If this is a movie, then it is totally worth buying a ticket for watching. >w<

Keep up the good work! ^w^d
