RaskVann rated On my way home

RaskVann rated a game 1 year ago
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Android.

Very emotive characters, a ton of animation and extra scenes between dialogue. The writer is going for a lot of ambitious things but not quite hitting the mark with most of them in the story which is a lot higher bar to shoot for then most of the pieces you see on the site.

Environment is detailed and varied. Models are competent. Good camera work.

It feels like half the characters are written to be assholes or pompous in a way I don't understand what they're shooting for. In the story there are a lot of 'being vague on purpose' that is trying to entice but not giving me any meat the chew on means I'm not given a reason to care about any of it.

The prologue ended for me when after the passive protagonist is roped in by his first love, their resulting relationship is covered in a montage.

It's a visual medium, show, don't tell.

Very ambitious, but nothing here grips me.
