I like a lot the game idea.
One suggestion: a convertion from materia to gold, a list of prices and normel equipment and services could be very usefull to play faster when charatcters go to a normal inn or market place (no enchanter´s shop or a weaponry).   In My own game i have usging the convertion 1 Materia = 1 Gold; And a list of prices of other game.
