dargon_dargon rated miniLAW : Ministry of Law

A downloadable game.

[Judge, jury, & executioner](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8EzsgnywNU)

miniLAW takes the attitude of Judge Dredd and gives you the option of what play style to follow. You can either stay covert & nonlethal like Metal Gear Solid & Hitman, or you can gun & run through bad guys like it's Halo.

The gameplay is straight forward, but as stated above, the execution depends on your style. It's difficult enough to give a challenge, but easy enough to where there's not a monumental learning curve.

The graphics are a nice contrast to Levantera. It still has that retro pixellated style, but it's more modern. It also gives that dystopian taste of the game's setting, which is great.

The sound is awesome. There doesn't seem to be one sound effect out of place (big props on using the Wilhelm scream), and the soundtrack fits perfectly.

The controls are awkward at first. Games like these usually do take some getting used to. While I had initial problems with the game not knowing if it wanted to use the keyboard & mouse or the XB1 controller, it eventually chose one or the other & it was a great experience. Personally, I'd love to have the jump button be the A button instead of the Y button, but I'm a retro Nintendo guy so it's just habit.

Overall, this is a game that could rival Levantera in terms of quality. Granted, it's like comparing Mario & Zelda because of differing game styles. Nonetheless, this is something that should be on everyone's radar.
