The game is extremely disjointed as a whole. Partially as the story has been remade like, 14 times... But it's simply littered with plotholes and Gary Stu excuses. It does have some good moments. But, all of them are ruined by pulling a Gary Stu. And the story keeps running off in unrelated directions and crossovers. It also doesn't help that the art is very lazy in terms of all the female character models are copy pasted. Don't get me wrong: It has some very good art in there. But it's like seeing a movie scene that looks good, and suddenly: Really bad CGI. Which... is just confusing. As: We get some really high quality models here and there. But for some reason... he just insists on copy-pasting the girls. When he could easily give them all a unique model, like all males. But for some reason: Nope.
The whole thing is extremely messy tbh. As you have several moments where you expect something to happen. And then it doesn't... and never does. Or, the opposite happens with a sudden plot con excuse. And then you expect the build up to go somewhere, but it never does... because the female characters are never allowed to threaten the fragile masculinity of the main character. So we are left with some extremely dumb moments. Which, is a big issue as, like said: It DOES have some really solid plot hooks. To give an analogy: It's like watching a marvel movie, and after 90 minutes of buildup to the final fight, a guy shows up and goes "Batman fixed it off-screen." and everyone just nods and leaves. And you question: What the heck? WHY is Batman here? It's not even the right universe! Not to mention: How would he fix a situation that is literally outside of his capabilities? The game doesn't care. And in the next scene: Everyone has forgotten the past 90 minutes anyhow, so none of it mattered.
