Vicctre Tamaj rated Tower of the Immortals

A downloadable game.

I've been seeing this game grow and evolve as time goes on. The most recent version of the game is much more fleshed out and realized. 

While I never was able to beat the demo, which might be a complete skill issue on my part, it was a blast to play.  The presentation is very simple, but charming with the classic style. It feels as if I could play this on older hardware, and its really dope. The animations are solid all around, with the gelatinous Cube being a standout. Music was ok,  the Title theme is the best track in the game so far, but maybe an awesome boss theme might creep its head at some point. Gameplay was overall enjoyable. It reminds me of the traditional Top Down Zelda games, and being a fan of those, it was super fun to see another take on that style. 

So far, my only critiques on the game are relevant to the difficulty. It has been stated before this game will be challenging, which I'm all for, but some design choices don't feel fair to the player. It feels relatively easy to hit a wall in this game, which might be polished by the final release, but it requires a lot of research and development to nail properly. Enemy placement feels sloppy in later stages, with groups upon groups of enemies all horded together. Usually the safest strategy was to lure a couple of them out and then pick them off, which became tedious. Some spells and combos of abilities may make this easier to deal with, but upon hitting this wall, there was not much I could do aside from start over again and hope I pick the proper combo of abilities, stats, and spells this time. Something to consider going in AND as a dev looking to polish their game! 

Kobold is my fav character of them all, shes just very cute and fun! Keep up the great work homie, game has tons of potential to be great. Game is very charming and worth looking into.
