I've tried a few shmups - Ikaruga, a few Touhous, maybe something else - and never really enjoyed them. I think I just have a distaste for the intricacy of bullet hells. But the pace and gameplay style of ZeroRanger is phenomenal, and managed to woo me quite greatly. I adore this game on just about every level.
