i don't think any game captures that strange shallow-depth of the earliest rpgs quite like this one. like the feeling that the game medium is holding something too powerful, too profound to contain fully. you know, like in the original pokemon, where every bit of dialogue was just a suggestion of a world much greater than could be held on a gameboy? like the ruins of alph, where strange architecture with no obvious purpose lay unexplained in text and without? it's a hard thing to describe. this game is bursting at the seams with just. every kind of thing. so many thoughts about this beautiful little game
