I had trouble with the controls in the first scene - mouse sensitivity was (I think?) off so it took forever to look around. I stuck with it though because something about it reminded me of my own childhood. And man, am I glad I did. This was something else. I think someone in the comments mentioned this, but you really used the medium well. A lesser artist would've just wrestled control away from the player, but that first scene was a masterpiece. The 60 minutes footage to give context but also set the timeline, having the adults argue about it not only displays the complexity of the situation but also makes things personal. I think it was the telephone call that transported me back to my childhood - just a good representation of the chaos of an Iranian household, especially through the eyes of a child. I was still trying to mess around and see what I can interact with until things started to develop and of course that just made things all the more tense when the broadcast cuts off.
That's not to say the rest of it wasn't brilliant. The second scene, I didn't experiment too much, but it seems like you can run yourself but if not someone else will pick you up? I think the grandfather (father? My farsi is terrible) picked me up but after a bomb dropped on us I regained control of my character and ran towards the mosque but looked back for survivors and just got picked right back up by one of the aunts(?). That packed an emotional punch.
The nuclear bomb scene was dizzying. I was using the mosque to orient myself so when that suddenly was nowhere to be found I was just lost in the colors and sounds.
A lot of the rest of it was difficult to follow along with, and I suspect it's not really meant for me to understand, but I definitely felt something from it. The footage of your uncle at the end, after witnessing the scenes in the pilot segment, were hard to watch.
I'm sorry for your loss.
