We've seen Dragon Ball, Dragon Dragon, Dragon Punch...
This game plays like a mix between Final Fantasy, Minesweeper, and the Megaton Punch minigame from Kirby Super Star. It sounds complex, but it's great in execution. For my video, I played the quick mode due to time restraints.
The gameplay style is rather unique, and in a great way. To play a huge 8-bit RPG in a fraction of the time sounds impossible, but this game pulls it off.
The graphics are great (considering it's grayscale 8-bit sprites), the music and sound effects are excellent, and the controls are responsive and almost as simple as they come.
The main critique I have is about the thing I find most interesting: the combat system. Sometimes, the attack sword spawns on the other side of the sliding action bar. While this isn't too much of an issue at first, the higher level monsters made it impossible to win the battle due to the speed of the monster vs the cursor speed toward the sword. I don't know if there's a logarithm you can change, but that might be something to look into.
Despite that, this is the most interesting RPG I've ever played. Definitely worth a playthrough for RPG and classic gaming fans alike. Damn good work, sir!
