Concept is interesting, writing is rather awful. About every character reads like they are the exact same with just varying degrees of assholeness.
I stopped reading around the part where MC goes for drinks with Sydero. Was hoping the writing would improve as it went on, or maybe that I would start caring for some of the characters. Neither happened, so I just gave up. Sydero is such a big focus of the story, I don't get why she is written to be so unlikeable. I am usually a fan of assholeish characters. They usually have something endearing about them, that makes their attitude bearable. Sydero has nothing, she is just an ass.  And a boring one at that.

This was my initial review, I finished it a few years after writing this. Now I don't think it is quite as bad as the original review made it seem, but I still do agree with some of the general points made. Namely that many of the characters are very similar, with only varying levels of assholeness. I found Sydero to be a bit more likeable second time around, but still not a great deal. Overall, it was okay.
