ProjectGrantwood rated WorldShaper Idle

A browser game made in HTML5.

This is an excellent new entry from Florian van Strein (known for Stop The Darkness and Final Earth 2) in the currently malnourished grid-based incremental genre. Gameplay in WorldShaper Idle includes unfolding upgrade discovery relying on combinations of different adjacent tile types. There is currently no prestige function, which makes it difficult to categorize it as a true idle game, but it scratches many other itches other idle games won't: it's a truly forgiving sandbox. The the lack of softcaps and most other synthetic gameplay walls encourages creativity in a way you just don't see in other games like this.

My only criticism is that it's not a fully-fledged game. It has much to keep me coming back, but it's just too short/small to be a top incremental, though the potential is absolutely there. And I know I'm asking for hazelnut whipped cream on what is already a superior chocolate torte, but... it probably needs a better name. I came for the Florian, not the Idle.

If you like Florian's games, you'll like this. If you like citybuilders, you'll like this. If you like incrementals, you'll like this. If you like idle games, it won't be what you expect, but likely better. I truly look forward to seeing the continued development of WorldShaper.
