4/10. Night Delivery falls into the "you do normal day-to-day stuff until a scary thing happens" category of Chilla's Art games. It tries to immerse you in the life of a delivery man whose job brings him to a weirdly hostile apartment complex. And on the one hand, it does a good job of creating a realistic environment and some subtly unnerving sound effects, but on the other hand much of the walking back-and-forth ends up being rather boring.
One really interesting part in Night Delivery is a maze sequence towards the end, somewhat reminiscent of the Otherworld in Silent Hill games. It might be slightly convoluted, but it provides a really cool change of pace and is probably the most atmospherically unsettling part of the game. Unfortunately, it's rather short and, surprise, ends with a cheap jumpscare.
The low point of the game is another sequence in the middle, probably meant as deadpan social satire, which requires you to repeatedly backtrack between two apartments located very far from each other and forces you to use an agonizingly slow lift. In theory, it could have been a good way to immerse you in the mundane aspect of the story and set up a contrast with the horror elements, but in reality it ends up being simply annoying and pulls you out of the experience.
Much like Okaeri, a much earlier entry in the Chilla's catalogue, Night Delivery tries to comment on a social issue, but fails to explore it in proper depth or say anything worthwhile.
And on a more technical note, well, this is very much a classic Chilla's Art experience. It might run better than The Caregiver, but you can expect it to freeze and crash at least once during your playthrough, which will in turn make the lack of a save function so much more frustrating. There is also at least one place in the game where your character can get physically stuck, forcing you to restart the whole game.
