The setting of Lau Lyssa immediately grips you, both in the strange rumors of the wild region to the north, and the vibrant art, whose dusty desert look rapidly gives way to a myriad of colors and interesting details. Any one of these backgrounds could be doing three times the heavy lifting that's being asked of it, but just 20 minutes in and I already feels like I could have walked down these streets, that's how much art I've seen so far. And all of these shots are just plain elegantly composed.
I'm also very happy to see a game that's giving voices to your senses, it's a writing convention that I think more role-playing games should be using to color the world. The character creation is also spaced out in a way that keeps you from getting fatigued by choice, with choices that give you time to figure your protag out with broad, meaningful strokes.
I quite like where this has been going so far, and I hope to get to play more in the future!
