Time_Hund rated What to do with a four-eared fox

Time_Hund rated a visual novel 3 years ago
A browser visual novel made in HTML5.

Very cute art direction all around.  I adore the character designs back to back and all the extra work put into all the adorable CGs with some stellar work making it feel like a crayon drawing. A 9.5/10 in that department for sure.

Dialogue and prose could use some work as well as story direction. The pacing and progression was shaky in quite a few part. Especially during the last section of the game. The big shift in settings and genre really brought the pacing to a halt with a bunch of new characters and environments that just were not fun to go through. More focus being put on the fox girl and the MC's relationship like in the last bed scene is what I feel that last portion really needed, but it felt like a lot of fun ideas or tropes from other series got dragged in and the VN just did not have the time at all to fully flesh any of it out in an interesting or meaningful way, so we just end up with a bunch of set up and intros with no meaningful development or pay off on their part. Really could've cut out that entire final stretch and have ended up with a better story. Otherwise it's a very fun standard "non-human meets human and learns about our way of life" sort of deals. It executes on the genre conventions pretty well in the earlier sections at least and it was fun to get to see the dynamic play out. Story? I'd say 6/10.
