The story is overall bland. I know that it can be hard to make the player feel what characters feel, but putting the question "Kill this person? Yes/no" to the player does not make it feel like a strong compulsion at all, in contrast to how the characters talk about it.
I appreciate that you put a lot of effort in making lots of combat moves for each character, but there's the usual JRPG issue that in 95% of fights there's a simple strategy of spamming the best available moves so random encounters are rather tedious.
