This game presents a good look at prejudice/disenfranchisement/discrimination and how things we hold dear can turn against us and we can become alienated from them. I'm confused by the ending though. The game seems to be implying that God exists and could provide the protagonist to get out of this post-apocalyptic scenario, but the protagonist doesn't go through with it.
Has the protagonist moved beyond the isolation of the post-Rapture world? Do they not believe in God (meaning the angelic figure is an illusion and the Rapture has been some other kind of disaster)? Does the protagonist not trust the angelic figure and thinks they are lying to them (perhaps this has happened before)?
The openness of the ending is actually kind of interesting.
