I’m not always a huge fan of 2D Platformers. I don’t like ones that are made for masochists. I’m not into speed runs or proving how awesome I am. I just want some challenges that while tough are doable; a good sound track; good visuals; and a great story would be a cherry on top. Miko Adventures Puffball gives me most of what I ask for. It has a good soundtrack that doesn’t get in the way. It has nice visuals that are comfy. It has a variety of monsters and has good variety in level aesthetics. I will say that the level design itself could sometimes get on my nerves. My main issue with it is that sometimes there are too many keys. You need the green key to be able to get the gold key in order to get the blue key, etc. This isn’t an issue itself but by level three it had a few too many keys. It would have been nice to have a map so I remembered where the doors were. Some levels had a good use of this and didn’t feel so spread out so it isn’t like it was an issue every level.
I played Miko on Linux. It never crashed and I didn’t notice any bugs or glitches. I used a Logitech F310 gamepad that worked without any issues. The game has no graphics options. Alt-Tab didn’t work. The frame rate is capped at 60 FPS but things felt smooth.

Overall I’d say Miko Adventures was a solid platformer. It’s good outweighed any bad. It could have been better in the level design; options or narrative but the game play itself was fun which counts for a lot. I paid $5.90 CAD for it and would say it’s current price of $9.99 USD is fair.
