A downloadable game for Windows.

A very cute, highly simplistic 3D platformer by the master of very cute, highly simplistic 3D platformers. More than anything, I enjoyed the NPC dialog and the post-game secret hunting. I feel as though this game didn't really need to be a platformer insofar as its really more like a very straightforward adventure game: find keys and open doors and that's about it. I wouldn't have minded more actual jumping and running. I also feel like the individual worlds -- while I'm glad there are a lot of them, each with their own unique aesthetic -- could have been larger and more interesting. I would've personally rather had half as many stages but with twice as much to do in each stage, just because it's a little bit boring to be dropped into a world and to immediately know everything that's going on. This is in contrast to the great 3D platformers of the 90's and beyond which leaned toward larger, more dynamic worlds that were more fun to explore. In Macbat, each world is basically just one room -- and that's cool, since there's a lot of them, but that's just my critique! Still a super cool game for a couple of bucks.
