A browser game made in HTML5.

I started the game last night, but quickly realized it was something I would need more time to play, and should wait until the morning when I'm ready.

Something that stood out to me was the contrast between the art and story. The art at times was so cute, and if you removed it from the context of the game, you would think they were a really happy silly character. I really liked the images of Ann with all her snacks towards the end or the image of her with her crush (the purple cat character) on the street. One theme of the game is about how you make things seem versus how they actually are and how you actually feel, and so it felt like an excellent use of the medium to make that point.

I didn't know too much about sex work and it was interesting and scary to learn about. The text messages were especially hard to read. The character says you can stop when they get boring, but it didn't seem boring to me, just scary and hurtful. It related for me to the theme of how we feel/say things as boring sometimes to protect ourselves. I also thought about how we get numb to pain and so the boredom of the character could be that they had read so many of those types of transphobic, cruel, and messed up messages that they don't realize that other people don't find them boring.  I only read through about half of the messages before stopping.

The part in the food court was a little confusing to me because I wasn't sure that I was making any progress as I was walking around and talking to the different food sample people. Maybe you could alter the text of the food sample people a little bit so you know you're making progress in the game ("Do you want another sample? etc").

I think it's a powerful memoir to share with others who want to learn about the dangers and trauma that can come from sex work. I hope Ann found/finds friends she can feel safe, silly, and calm around. Thank you for sharing your stories <3
