Hey guys, I'm sure you've already heard about itch delisting adult games like mine.
I'm still not sure what path itch will take, but payment processors have forced itch/steam to make this knee jerk reaction and stop showing any and all adult games.
So far, I still don't think my game falls into the content they're looking to ban and hope it'll return to normal like the rest, but we'll have to wait and see what happens, about whether if I'm allowed to continue existing on this site or not.
Hopefully, it all goes well and developers like myself are allowed to continue releasing our games here.
Thanks, Criten

When Itch says "delist", what does that mean exactly?
Like, will the game no longer appear in search or will it be removed from the platform entirely?
Right now, delisting for me and many other, is that all adult games on itch won't show in the search and can't be found by users. This basically means it's extremely difficult for people to find my game.
My game hasn't been deleted so far, because I don't think it violates what their new rules will be, but other's have had their games deleted entirely.
I see.... if it's hard to find a game, that is a problem. So, as long as you have the link, you can find it? If so, might have to promote elsewhere if this isn't resolved.
I read on reddit r/lewdgames that someone had created a website with some games (of course, not all of them. It is basically just their collections). There are a few, one being loop-io.dev. Keep in mind that these are made by the community and it's just a way to find adult games from itch.io, not buy them.
Example:
Clicking on "Play on Itch.io" will take you to the official itch.io page for Once in a Lifetime by Caribdis.

Yeah, direct links to projects that haven't been deleted, should still work.
But unfortunately, the issue with only accessing a game via a direct link, is that the traffic won't be anywhere near the same as before.
About 90% of my traffic here, was people searching games directly through itch io tags like the "adult" tag, or going to a browse tab like "popular games" and seeing my game on the front page and playing it.
Without this, adult games are basically dead here.
Hopefully it'll all go back to normal soon, but if not, then I might have to look to other platforms to host my game.
Understandable. I have a suggestion and I'm not sure how it will work out but JASTUSA is probably the best place to preserve your game if things don't work out. Those dudes are based and have been preserving games from Japan for a long while.
Alright, thanks for the tip if it doesn't work out here.
Give eejits like this an inch and they'll try for a mile. It's the same sort of bullshit as Prohibition, the evangelical campaigns in the 80s-2000s, etc., and it'll likely end the same once the same talking points are used again. Problem in the meantime is that they're destroying the livelihoods and passion of thousands of creatives to appease their own pseudo-moralistic beliefs. If there is a Hell, a good number of them have taken the expressway down.
Yeah it really is unfortunate that a payment company can enforce their own rules onto others, even if there's nothing wrong. It sucks for a lot of developers and removes their creativity, when bias censorship like this happens.

Thanks, for the link. Hopefully it all goes well.
We will see
I agree.
Itch Io hopefully should come back to their senses, if this goes any longer I fear a lot of the works many devs such as you will be cut off from there works because of some radical group enforcing payment processors to censor in a unjust manner.

Yeah, hopefully it blows over soon. I don't think my game will be affected in the long run, but we'll have to wait and see
