Hey everyone! Back with another update for Velocity Vortex. I’ve been working on a new mechanic that makes the game even more intense—you can’t touch the floor. This forces players to keep moving, using jumps, slides, and walls to stay in the air. It’s a fun challenge that really tests precision and speed.
Right now, stepping on the floor instantly resets the player. I’m experimenting with different ways to make this feel smooth and natural, so it pushes players without feeling frustrating. Along with this, I’ve started placing targets around the map to keep things interesting. Some are floating in the air, forcing players to aim while moving, while others are positioned low, making them tricky to hit without touching the ground.
To make shooting feel better, I’ve been tweaking bullet speed and damage. I want bullets to be fast and responsive but still require some skill to land shots. I’m also testing different damage values to make certain targets tougher while keeping the overall pace of the game quick and fluid.
Next up, I’ll be refining the no-touch floor mechanic, adjusting target placement, and fine-tuning bullet physics to make everything feel just right. I’m also working on designing levels that fully take advantage of this mechanic. Let me know what you think—should the no-touch floor be a core mechanic or just an extra challenge mode? More updates coming soon!
