Let's Keep It Up!

Alright, can't stop won't stop! I think today I'll start painting Town. . . Starting with the player's initial location. That's where they'll appear when they first start. Gotta pick out just the right pieces for the scene. This palette is huge. . . maybe I should have done this a little differently.

Well, now that I've thought of it, I guess I probably should. All of them together are just way too much at once, hard to see, etc. I'm doing a real big switch-up here now too. All the exterior tiles were in a big ole group, so I'm breaking them down by category too and making whole new tilemaps for them.

Doing this will just make things a lot more organized and easier to find/use. Sure, it takes extra time initially, but I have a feeling it will save a lot more time in the long run. Oops, almost forgot to set my sprite settings before putting them to use. That coulda really caused me some issues.

Something isn't quite working right with the palette. The sprites are overlapping and stuff. It's because the tiles are meant for a 48x48 sized grid but actually take up more than one tile, so are overlapping in the window. I'm sure there's an easy solution, I should probably make sure before I go too much further and have to redo it all.

Yeah, no problem. I can just change the Grid Size and Gap on the tilemaps to make it easier to see. I think each one will have to be set it's own way once they're created. NBD!

It's really weird though, because some of the sprites are huge and when dropped into the tilemap appear fine. While at the same time, others are smaller but overlap. I just understand why Unity is doing this. It's not a huge deal though, as long as I can make out what the sprite is so I can pick it to place, I'll be fine.

So, that's 41 separate tilemaps. That seems like a lot. That is like 9k sprites though, so it's probably best to break them down by theme instead of just trying to pick and choose from a single giant tilemap. Right?

Anyway, that took way too long to do, but at least now I'm setup for success, right? heheheheh

I just remembered that I need to add a "credits" screen. Add in the info for Limezu, the music, etc.
