Overturn Engine - Dev Log #1

This is the first of a quick series of dev logs for my project Overturn Engine. This is meant to be a short game for my Game-A-Week course in college, and the first build was put together in a week. The game is a retro space shooter using sprites and other assets that I have made sure to include in the game's credits. The game in its current state is very simple: shoot enemies to increase your score, and try to stay alive while dealing with the reversals. The theme is "reverse," meaning the rules of the game must switch in some way. I did this by having enemies drop red energy cells that change the player character sprite's color, invert the controls, make health pickups deal damage to the player, and enemy bullets heal.  I will upload more logs this week going over my progress in polishing the game, and I will publish it at the end of the week. Since it is a college project, I will take no payments and won't really stress over its visibility or popularity.
