My first game is 1 year old

Happy birthday Owl On His Own!

Originally released in the 2nd of march 2023 at the Steam Workshop, It's been (over) a year since I released my first game. So I wanted to talk a bit about it.

I've made many projects before this game: Youtube videos, music compositions, art, stories, poetry, etc. While I still regard some of these projects as nice, cool or passable, I can't deny that the majority of my past creations were undeniably terrible and cringy. A complete shitshow, if I may say.  However, Owl On His Own is something I take pride in. A huge amount of research was done to make this game, as well as many revisions to the writing. I'm very glad with how everything turned out in the end, and wouldn't change anything in the story.

The game is currently in it's 1.0.6 version. While most patches just addressed typos and bugs fixes, some others added new features and improvements, such as: The Brazilian Portuguese translation, The addition of a title card and disclaimer, new paths and events, no more need to extract files from that terrible default executable file from RPG Maker, a new music track, and more! I'm extremely satisfied with how the game is right now, and unless someone reports another bug or typo, there shouldn't be any more updates from now on.

Also, as of today, the game has over 30 downloads across all platforms! Now, I know what you're thinking: "Over 30 downloads?! That's literally nothing!!" While there's truth in your statement, you must realize that many indie games are released daily, and many of them are forgotten in the depths of the algorithm. You must understand the joy indie developers feels when they look at the download history and find out someone, somewhere, downloaded their game!

Anyway, thanks for reading, and here's to many more games in the future!

Own Doing.
