In my 6th blog post, I do not want to talk about a particular game. This time I am aiming to cover the commercial aspect of F2P games. When I think about free-to-play games, I usually remember Counter-Strike 2, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and some other projects.

              All three games I named do not require players to donate money to get a better playing experience. The only things players can get by donating to these games are Battle Passes and skins. Speaking of Apex Legends, this game used to have a couple of Pay-to-win skins but as I know right now all these skins are either fixed or deleted. In my opinion Apex Legends is so commercially successful because Respawn Entertainment with EA has enough resources to create high-quality 3d skins. I find every season battle pass beautiful enough to say that skins are the main reason why Apex Legends is commercially successful.

               The next game I want to talk about is CSGO2. Skins in this game also play a significant role, but because it is possible to sell them to other players, skins in this game don’t have fixed prices. For most of the people I ever asked about the best way to get good skins is to open cases on some websites because there players have bigger chances of winning a good item. Still, I find it obvious that because all skins come from opening in-game cases, CSGO reached 6.7$ million in revenue.

              Last but not least is Fortnite. A simple cartoon-style game that gained most of its popularity because of multiple collaborations with popular streamers, cybersport, and collaborations with different games and Mass culture elements such as Naruto, Marvel, etc. Because this game community is a mix of adults who enjoy the playing experience and do not find this game childish and kids who came to the game because of multiple collaborations this game makes lots of money without any need to sell pay-to-win skins or upgrades.
