Question

What scene from the Childhood Arc stayed with you the most? It doesn't have to be your favorite scene — I'm curious about the moment you kept thinking about after playing. 🤔

The one where MC's mother tells the construction workers she doesn't have any children. MC is aware of the necessity, but that doesn't make hearing something like that hurt less.

Honestly, for me it was wanting to play my MC as slightly jealous of Arthur at first because he was afraid to lose his uncle. But then I planned for him to slowly warm up to Arthur after talking to his uncle about his insecurities, only to have the story force me into only one option to push Arthur down into the well. I stopped and completely reset, cause that wasn't where I wanted things to go. It kinda sucks that I can't play that way for my MC, but I didn't want things to get taken that far. <_< I've enjoy all of the rest, but that's something I keep thinking back on.

Ah yes! I see. Can you tell me what choices you made with Arthur before the well scene. Resisting the voice can be tricky.

Hmm...was a while ago that I tried that route. So I don't remember to well. I know my MC was cold towards Arthur at first, but mainly hurt and angry with Tobias. After he talked it out with Tobias, he decided to give Arthur a chance and they were having fun. Becoming friends. Even chose the shy flirt option with the herbarium. But then the well came up and suddenly I was railroaded into pushing him into it. I just wanted a little drama but my MC was never a cruel child, so it felt a bit to forced and out of character to suddenly have only that option. This was quite a while back of course, so maybe things have been refined since then. I'll have to try it again.

Edit: Oh yay! It didn't go nearly as bad this time. Finally, I can put that behind me. It might just be cause the story was in a much earlier state. =P

Ah ! I'm glad ! 💙 I did remember having do something with this variable.

Yep. I'm glad it seems better balanced now. I was able to start things a little rocky, but recover the relationship without any drastic attempts on poor Arthur's life. On a side note, love all the artwork.

Thanks ! Working on a new one as we speak !

I think the ending hit much more viscerally to me

Seeing everything (people, familars, places) "recover" (to an extent) over the time, and then to have those same things leave one by one. And the mc feeling like "but you can't leave!" Not wanting things to change for many reasons but one being fear.

And having to be told/learn that they'll be okay on their "own" (they'll still have their mom etc. But you get my point) The world will need to keep spinning

I think it also ties back in to when Mc is speaking to his father's familar (not good with names) and its acknowledged they'll have to leave, and when asked if he'll come back the answer is uncertain but the lynx "hopes" he can
