Back again with three locations.
This time they're all Sky themed, or at least "very high up" themed.
First up we have The Pillars of Sky.
Many of the Weird Locations in this book are just modifications on Ruins.
Ruins where you wouldn't expect. Ruins with a rule changed.
Here is one such place. Ruin rotated 90 degrees.
It is implied this happened recently, by some unknown force.
My inspiration for this was two fold.
Firstly, the look of some generated structures in Minecraft,
when ever you summon them above ground with world edit tools.
And the cartoon Wayside, about a school that is a 30 floor tower,
instead of a 30 room sprawl.
I went back and forth as to whether this should be a full location,
or one of the "Just a Little Weird" Encounters.
I decided to keep it, as not every Location needs to be a multi-page complex.
Lastly, I kept it because of its inhabited. The Air Folk.
One of the many Elemental Guys I've added in this book.
Sort of stepping on a few of the Dimonays toes with those, but it's ok.
Ideas get reiterated in RPGs all the time.
Like how WOD had Animal-Vampires, and then added Werewolves.
It happens. Much like a sideways building. It happens.

Next up we have The Upside Down World. Another very simple one.
I once considered condensing this book to be d60, with this as one of the Just a Little Weird.
But then I thought I didn't want to rob people of that much. So it stays!
This location was inspired by a Minecraft mod which was popular a few years ago.
And the general idea of a "bizzaro" location. Nilbogs would be from here.

And finally for today, The Flying Whale.
The flying whale is a classic of whimsical imagery.
Space whales specifically are a recurring trope in Sci-Fi media.
And this whale can technically appear in space.
This location is less a specific place, and more a means to see all places.
The name of the whale, Noona, was inspired by a giant whale from Arabic folklore.
The idea of crawling inside the whale and finding a boat is inspired by several tales,
all of which are likely inspired by the biblical story of Jonah and the Whale.
The creatures that protect Noona are inspired by Barnacles,
while the creatures that hunt Noona, a sort of inter-dimensional boarder control,
are inspired by Orcas. Reflecting real world whale ecology.
This location is intended to be fun, hopeful, and inspiring.
Rather than fighting what ever you come across,
this place gives you a chance to talk.
Rather than looting a monsters den or ancient ruin,
this place lets you exchange items and ideas in an open forum.
I just think that's neat.

I hope you have enjoyed this sky bound locations!
stay tuned for the final two Sky Locations.
Followed by 10 locations of the under earth!
Regards,
