Another two locations!
First up we have the Crystal Forest.
Crystals are a common trope in fantasy.
Objects made from them often have magic powers.
Staring into one can show you the future.
Crystals are often the building material of choice for enlightened toga wearing,
if lost or ruined, civilizations. In contrast to our modern obsession with steel and concrete.
Of course, if it can be an object, or a building, why not a place?
The Crystal Forest! A woodland of naturally occurring crystal spires.
With creatures made all of crystal. All the past crystal creature are here.
Plus a recurring theme for these locations. Modifying the already modular animals.
Here making them all made of crystal. Which I think is just a neat addition.
And additionally there is the Salt Being. As Salt is often a crystal as well.
Originally this was going to be a creature for a cenote themed location.
But that place was cut for being too simple.
The Salt Being was inspired by a villain from an episode of The Secret Saturdays.
Shame the second season of that show never aired in my country.
Lastly, to aid this location, I added a d100 table of real gems!
All with a short description. I think I got all the big names.
Apologies if your birthstone was omitted.

Next up we have The Lost Library.
The initial inspiration for this was imagining a library that operated like The Internet.
Being available all over the world as a single web of interconnected knowledge.
In my mind this idea became a series of shelf lined tunnels under the earth.
I kept this idea around for a while, before deciding to use it for this.
After this I added all of the many Knowledge Stealing creatures to it.
And all the mages who went to far. The quest for knowledge is a recurring theme.
Many creatures want it, and in the ruins you will find it. But what will you do with it?
The next logical step was to add a way to gain knowledge from it.
Which I made an INT roll with stipulations.
I must admit there was also an influence from The Last Air Bender' Spirit Library here,
as well as the Library of Babel, and finally the Librarians from Welcome to Nightvale.
Which are the inspiration for the unique creature. The Book Worms.
The displace-ers of the Olms. Or so the Olms say.
Lastly, I added an option for non-literate beings to gain knowledge here.
Because I'm inclusive like that. Still, scribes will have an easier time here.

I hope you've enjoyed these locations.
Stay tuned for the final 6!
