Pathfinding [possible spoilers]

I've noticed a couple of pathfinding quirks:

1) When in the cave by the second exit, clicking into the path to the water at your Y-level or above walks Elinor into the cave wall; clicking below her Y-level will walk her around the wall properly.

2) When at the top of the screen with the manor, clicking over to the lake area will send her walking into the top corner of the manor instead of around it.

3) At the train station, clicking on the platform  above the stairs and right of the left edge of the pine tree will result in her walking across the grass and getting caught in the trees instead of walking onto the platform; clicking below the stairs gets her onto the platform just fine.

4)  When on the platform, clicking on the grass above the platform walks our heroine towards it, but she is blocked by the fence instead of going around the stairs (as below). I didn't play with that one as much because I am tired.

I think I am near the end now and am enjoying it a lot!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and glad you're enjoying it! The situations you described seem to be where the direct route from the origin to the destination is blocked by a wall/roof/fence. This is one of the limitations of the game engine's pathfinding system (or quirk is a nice euphemism!) - it does not route around walls (or similar items), so it does require the player to find a route around the obstacle.

SPOILERS AHEAD

If you've reached the cave, you've also reached the ruins. I found the pathfinding quirk useful here because the player has to figure out the path to a semi-hidden treasure there, and can't just click on it to go there directly. :)
