Downloaded games, but none of them will run

I recently bought the Justice bundle and downloaded a few of the games in it (Blind Men, Arcade Spirits, Brassica - A Marry Tale, etc.) through the itch.io app and it says they all downloaded but when I click on them to play them, it just says "running" for a really long time and nothing actually opens up so I can play the games. Literally none of them will open or do anything. I restarted my computer like three times to see if that would fix it, but nothing changed. Not super sure what to do. I'm running the app on a Windows 8 computer with a 64-bit OS.

edit: it is now also giving me the "[game].exe has stopped working" error after a bit, too.

Try running them in compatibility mode for an earlier version - e.g. Windows 7, or Windows XP, as these games were often written a few years ago for those earlier versions of windows. Here's a guide: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15078/windows-10-make-older-apps-or-programs-compatible

I tried that (on every compatibility setting)  but unfortunately it didn't do anything. Thank you for the suggestion though !
