UI bug on standup scene.

To get this out of the way: this is a really, really good game, and I respect it a lot.  Clam man 1 is a gem if you ask me, and this one is bound to be better.

I only have one problem with the stand-up scene. After telling all three jokes, you are supposed to hit a button on the top left to leave. Instead, I clicked the homepage button after goofing around for a bit, but all the UI on the top left vanished. I stood in front of the audience for 5 minutes with no way to leave the stage. Speaking of awkwardness..

Hopefully you can recreate this and fix the issue.

The get this out of the way as well - Thank you so much! That is really really nice of you and I appreciate it.

Thanks for describing the bug in such detail! I'm almost 100% sure I can recreate that and fix it for the next update! Really, that's a huge help - I'm only sorry it ruined the ending to your run!

Hey marafrass, thanks a lot for responding to my message.

I saved the game to get back to it later, but there seems to be no load button. I believe there may be one on the main menu, but you can only access it once you're a lot further into the game and I would rather not want to wait that long. Or maybe I am overlooking something..?

Developer

Hey again! Currently fixing the bug you mentioned, but I'm sorry - I'm a little confused what you mean in this comment!

It's true, you can't access saving/loading in the first 30 min of the game, and that is by design. You should be able to load your saves from the main menu, though, and I'm not quite getting where you're trying to load the game right now? That is unless you're playing in browser, which will be an issue - while the saves have been stored for some players, most seem to not be able to find/load saves. I'm really sorry if that's the case, since there isn't a way of restoring those saves if that is the case...

If the load menu doesn't show up on the main menu, it's because the game can't find any saves - it most likely means that either the saves have not been stored or they've been erased when playing in browser.

So sorry about your issues with the game, it sucks to lose progress like that and I wish there was an easy fix I could do. (The silver lining, I suppose, is that thanks to your report and the issues you've described, I'll be able to fix that bugs for tons of other players!)

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

Hey marafrass,

Thanks again for responding. I have been playing on browser and when opening up the game I saw no "continue playing" button. All it says is "Click to begin", which then takes me to the beginning of the game, which means that to access my hopefully-still-alive savefile, I have to go through all of the beginning. I was not aware that a load button existed in the main menu.

The 'Main menu' I was referring to in the previous comment is the menu that opens up when you click the button with the three bars (ingame menu is a better term for it). I actually thought there was no main menu, as I thought the opening screen was just that: an opening screen.

If the savefile is erased, then it's no problem. It is out of your control. I am glad that you're listening to me and everybody else.

Developer

Ah I see! Yeah, browser plays unfortunately disregard the opening screen and starts the game immediately...

Bummer - I hate hearing that you lost progress, but that’s unfortunately the downside of the browser version. Maybe I should add in a warning somewhere and tell players about that!

Either way, thanks for being so understanding and again, thanks so much for reporting the bugs! Rest assured that you just saved a bunch of people from loading/reloading into a broken scene!

If there’s anythinf else I can do to help, let me known!

I have one more thing that I wanted to point out. Whenever I spoke to somebody, there was audio dialogue that played. However, when I skipped through it (sometimes it takes two skips) while the audio was still playing, it cut off all the future voice acting until I started a new conversation. This may be because not every line in the game is voice acted, but I'd like to point it out anyway. The only time where it did not happen as much was when I talked to the trio.

Developer

You’re right to think that it’s because not every line is voice acted! Usually, most conversations feature 5-6 lines of voiced dialogue, with the exception of the introduction of the Triad!
