I can't seem to use splore to connect to the BBS... is the problem with the BBS or my local installation? Are there error logs that I can dig through?

This is the error I'm getting:

codo_wget failed: UrlHandle == 0

Hi zekechan. I take it you're running this under Linux?
Try this from commandline to see what it gives you:
wget http://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/cpost_lister3.php?cat=7&sub=2
You could also try accessing that URL from a browser just to make sure.
(edit: should be http, not https)

Thanks @lexaloffle... I figured out what was wrong... my firewall/antivirus was blocking it... apparently the notification doesn't appear when Pico-8 is in full screen mode... that's why it couldn't connect... thanks again!

I have the same problem, but it's not an issue of firewall, I don't think.
I can download the webpage using wget, and even when I open the the cartridge I can browse the thread (via "search BBS thread") but when I press "x", pico returns an error "could not connect to bbs". Do you have an idea how to debug this?

I am posting here becasue I am also on linux.

Loving pico btw :)
