I bought this game for 2 family members and successfully extracted the files, but this error pops up when I try to run the exe.

Does anyone know how I can fix it?

Update: Fixed by copying over a few files from my steam purchased version. However, this still could cause difficulties for people who don't have a steam copy available.

Sounds like something went wrong when it was extracted.  Try extracting it again to a new folder maybe?
