Mouth movement

I find the idle movement of the mouth very unsettling. Like the jaw is seperate of the head.

At first I read this and was like “what in the world is he talking about?”. So I opened up the game and looked at a few idle animations. I think I see what you mean, but that isn’t intended. For the lack of a better explanation all characters are portrayed with their mouths closed. But I can totally see how if you look at it right you can see like a jaw drop sort of mouth.

I’m curious, which character are you looking at, or is it just all of them? I noticed it on the player models for the most part. I’d like to say it will be changed, but well to be honest that would require reworking probably most all player and NPC sprites in the game. I know that only sounds like 8 characters or so, but I technically have art for like 45 NPCs that just aren’t in the game yet. That in mind I’ll be honest, I don’t have the money for that at the moment, but I’ll keep it in mind for the future. Thanks for pointing it out regardless, good to know.

I was looking at the male player one.
At first i was thinking "Why does my male character has bouncy breasts physics?", but then a once-you-see-it-you-can´t-unsee-it moment happened and the collar (which has almost the same color as the head) turned into a jaw. The eyes of the player character are pretty low and the face is very round, so in my mind the head extended to the yellow collar. I have made a photo. Imagine the triangular shadow under the characters head as a mouth, that opens and (almost) closes during the idle animation.
