Can't play the game

Hey there.

Would love to play your game, but I can't make much sense of it the way it's being presented to me; a wordless, buggy, indefinitely loading mess. Here are some screenshots to visualize the issue:

Please tell me if you need any more information to help pinpoint the issue.

Developer

Check that the game files (local, resources, settings.ini etc) are in the same folder with the game executable

They sure are. I just straight unpacked the zip.

Ok, I actually just found out what messed things up. Why, I do not know, but apparently you can't name the folder that contains your game 'Reactor Tech²'. Removing the '²' fixed the issue.

Ok, no, it partially fixed it. Text is now visible, but settings cannot be changed (not sure if intentional) and I still get stuck on a loading screen:

Developer

Write me the path to the game folder and attach a screenshot with the save folder

Developer

1. Try moving the game folder in any other path than Program Files (x86).
2. Try moving the game folder to drive D :.

If all else fails, send a screenshot along path save/tech tree path.

Moving the game to Program Files (in favour of of the 64bit version) did in fact seem to have fixed the problem. Any reason why it would act up like this?

Game looks really nice. Good soundscape and visuals. But I have no clue what I'm doing. I have a setup, I think it gave me power earlier, which I was able to sell, but it no longer works. There's no tooltips, barely any info, no tutorial, no help page, no indication of what I'm doing right or wrong. Looking forward to seeing more, though.

Most likely, the problem was the lack of access to create files. Probably, if you run the game as administrator, it could earn in Program Files (x86).

Thanks for your feedback! In the next update, a guide will appear about the beginning of the game, as well as pop-up descriptions of some buttons (for resources, details, etc.)

I advise you to set the heating to 70%, and the water supply to 30%. The game uses degrees centigrade. Water begins to evaporate at temperatures from 100 and above.

Alright. I'll give it another go. Also, I was already running it as admin in program files X86.

Edit: While the 70/0/30 split seems to indeed work, as the external heat reaches high temperatures, an ear-deafening alarm sounds.

A few more things I noticed, and then I'll leave you be.

There don't seem to be any true enforced maximums of these gauges:

Research doesn't actually seem to progress at all if you only give it 50:

A way to input the percentages instead of only having sliders would be great for people that like clean numbers:

The fact that destroying a power line costs over 6 times the amount used to build it feels off:

The offers aren't nearly as efficient as just straight selling off the power to the city is:

Research costs accumulate as work debt, even if you have money for R&D to just take:

The fact that the numbers of boilers and turbines actually represent °C only became clear to me when you mentioned it:

Would be nice to have some sort of auto-refill option for these (It also wasn't clear to me at the start that I had to click the cube button there):

I feel it would be nice to be able to cancel/turn off destruction mode by right-clicking:

Hope this helps you out. I'm really liking the look of the game, and look forward to seeing more.

Best of luck.
