So I downloaded the game on a Dell Latitude, not the flashiest of Laptops but I get by. I was able to wander around and plant trees as well as talk to villagers and start quests. I closed the game down that day and came to pick it back up and it wouldn't start. I got exe to start but the screen was black and I couldn't go any further. Just figured I'd let you know.
Hello there, I’m sorry to hear that. I have one suggestion off the top of my head at least. This is going to sound stupid, but did you try opening it again? I’ve actually run into this on my own computer. It seems to be rare, but sometimes the game will just open up to a black screen and never actually launch.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but to explain a bit, the game is made in Construct 3. When it crashes like that before the game has even loaded it’s more of an engine issue rather than something I coded. When it’s compiled the game uses a framework called nw.js to run. If I had to guess the black screen bug is something related to nw.js.
Before I update the game again I’ll check to make sure I have the latest version and do some looking to see if anyone else is encountering the error. Like I said though I think it’s a bit out of my hands. Lame solution, but I would try opening it again. I’ve never had that issue happen twice in a row to me, seems to be more of a sporadic problem, but maybe I’ve just been lucky. If it does happen to you literally every time you open it I’d like to know.
