Hey all, excited to be doing this jam!

Im going to be streaming my progress and process on mixer all this week. I plan to be on stream as I'm doing all of this from planning to development to polish.

I'm making this with a art friend, but will handle most of everything else. I'll be scoping / brainstorming / planning from 3 to 5 pm est today at Www.mixer.com/YanniMakes and will be on from 9pm to midnight every night this week going through this.

After the jam I am thinking of taking the vods and putting them on YouTube for anyone who may find this interesting.

Did my first pass for the Brain Storming and the Scoping session with my art friend!

Going to be making a bug stomping dungeon crawler where you are a foot!

I will be continuing to have my progress and process on Mixer as I work through it all.

Started to work on level generation tonight as well as a few basics like player movement, enemy health system, and some other stuff.

I've obviously created a masterpiece with these placeholders xD

Yesterday night I got the first Ant for this bug stompin game!

I set up basic enemy movement, set up a handler for setting enemies with different health, movement distance, movement speed, and damaging the player. Also set it up where when the player gets hit once it goes from a shoe to a nude foot. Then set up a power up that gives the player back the shoe.

So this is the first time I've done a tile base system where actors (players / enemies) have to abide by the rules of the tiles. I basically used an array to store the Position, and an Array to define is the space is Occupied. Then basically making legal moves.

The pathfinding on a tile system was much more challenging than just saying cast ray and walk to player. So I think I've always assumed this wasn't a difficult thing to do and I kind of wanted to give up but did not. Since I wanted to do a turn base system I felt like it would be the best implementation.

I finally got the turn base system set up with the tiles and it feels good. I also set up unlimited level progression with a incremental point system.

Last night I had to take like 20 steps back before moving forward cause I kept breaking things, but eventually got to a good point. Tonight on stream I'm going to wrap up the code as much as I can tonight and also write a song or two for the game.

Yesterday I wrote 2 songs and implemented a lot of art assets and fixed a bunch of bugs.

Today from 10am est till 330 est I'll be streaming the last leg of the game. Mostly implementing the rest of any art assets and trying to balance and make the game more fun.
