It took about a week, but I finally managed to get a demo released! Scrapship, a top-down shooter programmed in Qbasic.

Really looking forward to hearing some feedback!

What are features you'd like to see in future versions?

The demo can be checked out here:

Known issues (so far):

- Bottom of the screen might get cut off at the bottom since it's sized 1080x1080.

- Caps lock on prevents one from switching  weapon types.

Hello ! Well I played two games and survived each time, collecting something like 15  and 23 scraps.

For the moment the ability to fire is useless since I can easily dodge every obstacle.
I didn't even think about trying the other weapon actually, and mainly because it's easier to avoid the enemies than killing them.

And about future features, the choice depends on what you expect this game to become.
For the moment I think games are really short and you could increase the difficulty over time.

Finally that was fun and easy but too short and empty.

Haha! Ok, I'll make it harder next time. You are right in saying that you can just dodge the enemies instead of engage them though.

The second weapon has a wider hit area, longer range and does more damage, but fires slower than the primary weapon.

Ideas for this game are constantly changing, but more levels, enemies and weapon types are pretty much a certainty.

Right now I'm working on improving the lasers so you can shoot more than one at a time.

Thanks for playing Malerouille, the feedback is really helpful!

It took a while, but I finally got the second demo of Scrapship pushed out the door!

What are your thoughts this time around?
Thanks for playing!
