The project isn't dead, I think — it's just crawling along at a snail's pace. All I've seen is a tiny sliver of text progress (for now). What I do know is they've got some new CGs, plus new character art for *other projects*...
Judging by the dev's tone and day-to-day life, they haven't given up — but there's no "must update ASAP" energy either.
