Cannot register an account on the Forever Network

If you have issues registering an account on the Forever Network, please make sure that:

  • You're not using a VPN to register on the Forever Network, or you're not behind another proxy service that changes your IP address. You must be registering from your home IP address (this address does not get shared, it only gets logged for safety/abuse purposes)
  • You're not behind CGNAT. Some ISPs may apply this to your Internet connection due to IPv4 shortages, if they didn't give you an IPv6 address. This means that your IP is placed behind another network that can't be publicly reached - this may cause issues with the Forever Network's firewall, which unfortunately cannot be fixed on my end. Hopefully this doesn't cause issues with your registration - it is rare, but it is possible.

You can check the status of your IP address at https://ipinfo.io/what-is-my-ip, and compare it with the above issues. If you're in the clear, and you still can't register, please raise an issue in this community page and provide the time and date of when you attempted to register, so I can try to unblock your IP address (please don't actually share the address in your post - although not much harm comes from doing so, it's best to stay on the safe side.)

In the case that you're screwed cannot register on the network, an account is actually not strictly required to play, as you can still play offline with a local save file. The only downside to this is that you won't be on the public leaderboard, and you won't be able to log in as easily from another computer. You can however transfer your save files between devices, as long as you don't modify them by hand.

Having issues with a mod

If a mod doesn't load or appear on the Extras screen, you can check if any errors occurred while loading it in two ways:

  • Opening the notifications sidebar (with the backslash key "\")
  • Checking the game's folder for any error logs

These logs usually provide more detail on what went wrong during the loading process. It's best to bring up mod issues with the original author on their mod's GameBanana page, not in this community page, but if no mods are loading for you at all, please raise an issue here (a video recording or similar would be very helpful!)

I have another issue with the game

If you have another issue or bug you need to report, please provide the following:

  • A screenrecording if possible that reproduces the issue, or at the very minimum, a screenshot
  • A copy of the crash log, if one exists
  • A detailed explanation of the issue

This detail helps me a lot when sifting through the spaghetti code diagnosing the problem and fixing it, and it is greatly appreciated! I usually try to fix bugs within a few days, but I aim to fix them within one day when I have time (alongside Life™ and working on Catto Boi INFiNiTY.)
