Permadeath vs Metaprogress vs Continue button?

Hi Magalis,

I'm confused about the concept of progression in the game. My first impression was that, due to the high initial difficulty, the character would have some kind of progression that applied beyond death.  I like the rogue-like experience, and the variety of experiences is mind-boggling to say the least, however it seems like I start out at the same place each time, and then tend to repeat the same experiences each time.

Let me back up a bit to say that, as it is, if I hit "Continue" after dying, I start as the same character, but with 3 for all stats even though it still calls me a Mage, and everything else is reset. The 3 for all stats should be fixed regardless. I don't think that's the intention because I saw a (much) older post where you said the "Continue" button after death is basically a new game/same character button. As it is, it's a new game/useless character button :P.

So maybe this should be an alternate game mode, like "Casual", opposite the Ironman mode depending on how you feel it fits. I think it would be really fantastic to smack that whore brigand down on 2nd or 3rd play, get some Were or Centaur dick even though I'm a mage, saunter into the Brothel as the biggest butt-slut on the face of the planet etc, or conversely, saunter in as the biggest toppest hero known to [insert fantasy land here] and fuck all the bitches.

Another thing, and maybe this is related to Perception being reset, is that I can't see lust/stamina etc on enemy after continue. I haven't tested out enough, but it's probably intentional.

Thanks for the great game!

One other thing, just remembered. The "P" button to load everything is nice. I'm on SSD and it doesn't take long at all, then no loading screens. Problem is, it flashes up there for about 2 seconds before menu loads, and after that I can't force-load. Maybe an option to force it on (always force-load), or keep the prompt up when main menu is up?

Hey there; I'll check on the stat reset thing, it should start you with the same character that you used on the last attempt unless there's something hinky going on with your save file.

Metaprogression-wise, there are the Bonus points, which you earn by unlocking achievements. These give you access to a new screen during character creation that will let you start with bonus stats, items, equipment, or even further on in the game.

And yeah, Perception unlocks various aspects of what you can see about the enemies in combat - stamina, balance, lust, arousal, next stance and next skill.

Thanks! I don't think I got any bonus points yet, but I'll check that out.

I have version 0.2.18.0 for the record, on Win10. Let me know if there's any info you need. I didn't do any hinky to my save files, and it happened more than once if I'm not mistaken.
