Hi a friend of my recommend me to buy this as iam a huge fan of the pirate setting, ive allready bought all those games under the name "Sea Dogs" on Steam, now iam unsure are this "based on" games in new engine the same games? Just working on Windows 10 having 64 bit support and stability? Or are this just Mods? Thank you.
The linked games are based upon and virtually identical to the original games Pirates of the Caribbean, Caribbean Tales and City of Abandoned Ships (GOF and ERAS are true mods that came from the base COAS). There are some minor changes that were made to work with the enhanced features that were added to Maelstrom Engine. The Maelstrom Engine is a rewrite of the original Storm 2.0, 2.5 and 2.8 in that it can play all 3 of the game versions, instead of separate engines, and was also upgraded to DirectX 9 (the originals were DX8, but we still offer that too, except it comes will all the other fixes and enhancements made to sound, memory, AI and such) and also available for 64 bit. There are many other upgrades and fixes to make it faster and more stable than the original. Many fixes are also applied to the mod resources and scripts as well.
Because of the engine changes, these mods will not work with the original Storm engines (even our Lost Ships City will not work with Storm 2.8), and vice versa, Maelstrom will not play City of Abandoned Ships from the cd; they go together and that's why we offer the "copy" versions of the original games, so you can play all of them with one improved engine. The one true compatibility is that if you have save games from City of Abandoned Ships, the save format is the same as the original for that specific version and you can actually launch and play old saves from City of Abandoned Ships. This is not true for any other mod that we have.

Caribe Stories and Lost Ships are allready Multilangual but buccaneers of the caribe isnt. Any Chance this will get an German Version too? Or could i add my files from the Original game or wont this work? I mean only the Text Files.
