Tail length changes when pitch changes?

Loving the plugin so far but I had one concern, and I didn't know if it was me not figuring it out or this was how it worked.

When I change the pitch, I have to manually set the stretch length or the tail ends up becoming shorter (like most samplers'). I've been having to set the stretch, export that as a wav file, and then use that, repeating these steps for every pitch I need. I was wondering if I was just missing a setting or something that does this for me automatically? Other than this great job on this plugin.

If your sample length is exactly 1/4, then it does indeed do that. The next update will make it so that the "experimental" algorithm automatically attempts to stretch it correctly, but for now I have 2 suggestions:

  1. Set a stretch of ~111%. This would make it sound okay in most cases.
  2. Instead of making your kick at exactly 1/4 length, why not make it a bit longer? This will give the algorithm more data to work with, plus you get the additional tail end to do more creative stuff with later on. (Say, if you wanted to have the tail last for longer than a beat, for example.)

Personally I always recommend the 2nd option over the 1st. Giving the algorithm more data to work with is generally considered a lot better than artificially stretching it.

Thanks for the reply! I’m aware it would probably be smarter for me to create longer tails lol. Yes, setting it to about 111% generally sounds pretty good anyway, so I was just wondering if automatic stretching was an option. It’s not really a major inconvenience, just wanted to know. Looking forward to future updates!
