Exporting/SRD?

Hi Duncan. I ran thru the game solo last night and really enjoyed it. I was wondering about possibly using the rules to port out to a version that could run in the world of Claymore Games's FIST.  If so have you developed a systems reference document and/or how would you like to handle attribution?

Developer

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the game! I do not have any sort of developed systems reference document. If you're familiar with the way the Mork Borg open license operates, 7:7 can be adapted under the same rules. https://www.morkborg.com/license/

Basically, (I am not a lawyer) it needs to include both the Mork Borg legal text and 7:7 legal text (below) as well as whatever might be needed for FIST. Like Mork Borg (paraphrasing their site) the mechanics and game rules may be reused and referenced freely; art and text may not be reused or translated unless you have explicit permission. I don't currently have any sort of "Compatible with 7:7" logo, though I should probably make one.

Does this help? If you have any questions or just want to bounce ideas off someone let me know :) I'd be excited to see your adaptation!

Yes! Perfect, actually.

I had made some notes on where FIST changes would need to be. Just to be on the safe side, I'll include the MB stuff. I honestly think since there is an entirely different resolution system and how it'd be used to play FIST, that may not be *strictly* necessary, but like I said, better safe than sorry. If you had a moodboard or something like that, I'm happy to mock up a "Powered by 7;7" or similar kinda thing should this ever make it to Itch or beyond.

HEY! while I have you lol you mention "fleeing" using locations and such. Is that simply having the Monsters hit and are discarded? I didn't see in the base game how that worked, so I tinkered with it. I was inspired a bit by, ugh, of all things, Munchkin's run away die. It will not be licensed into every single IP and game the way a certain Steve Jackson game has been.  Ahem.

I'll put together a "Powered by 7:7" logo sometime soon, I should have done it long ago anyways :) I think that the Mork Borg license probably needs to be included if the 7:7 one is just because it's kinda subsidiary to it? But I honestly don't know the answers.

Fleeing is indeed having all the Monsters deal their damage and get discarded. This happens when you play a fresh Location card from your hand while there are enemy Monsters in play.

Here's a "Powered by 7:7" logo you are welcome to use if you would like!
