i dont know if its intentional or a bug but my cursor isn't there so it makes it hard to navigate my screen to select where to go or where options are

It's a known bug. However, it seems to be rather elusive. I don't think it's going to get any better (in terms of bugfixes). When you notice your cursor missing at the start (it should be visible even in the startup loading screen), try reloading by pressing F5. Repeatedly if necessary. (That way you can restart in quick succession.)
