🎮 [COLLAB RECRUITMENT] — Story Maker & Pixel Artist for a Unity 2D Game

💥 Project: “Don’t Touch My Dashboard”

A dashboard no one should touch... yet everyone does. 😅

🕹️ The Concept

“Don’t Touch My Dashboard” is a humorous 2D Unity game where every slider or button affects the world in real time.
Change the gravity → buildings collapse.
Adjust the reactor power → explosions everywhere.
Lower the coffee level → chaos ensues. ☕💥
Your goal? Keep the world stable… or at least try.
Think Papers, Please meets The Stanley Parable, but with more smoke and panic.

✍️ Story Maker

Be the voice of chaos:

  • Write the funny alerts, absurd warnings, and small narrative events.

  • Give personality to the dashboard (sarcastic, panicked, passive-aggressive…).

  • Create short texts and dialogues reacting to the player’s actions.

Profile: Humor, creativity, and love for absurd storytelling.

🎨 Pixel Artist

Bring the collapsing world to life:

  • Create 2D sprites (dashboard elements, world objects, effects, particles).

  • Retro pixel art style with expressive visuals.

  • (Bonus) Small animations — shaking, smoke, mini explosions.

Profile: Comfortable with Aseprite/Piskel or similar, and loves adding visual chaos.

🧰 Tech & Setup

  • Unity 2D (C#)

  • GitHub collaboration

  • Hobby project, flexible and evolving

💌 Wanna join the chaos?

DM me with:

  • A short intro about you

  • What you’d like to contribute

  • (Optional) Your portfolio or examples of work

🧨 “Don’t Touch My Dashboard” — Everything was fine… until you moved a slider.

A lovely day to you, Clouvetot!

Sincerely, hearing you are searching for a humorous, well-rounded writer brings nothing but euphoria into my ears; much like the chirping & chattering of birds—ushering glad tidings upon the morning hours (ah, yes; one where no rushing to workplaces).  Furthermore, I personally discover & reconsider your exemplum (parable) to be exquisitely fascinating & ingenious.

Whilst I have never laid hands upon the story of 'Papers, please', 'The Stanley Parable' does ring lots of bells for myself, truly. Therefore, I have a more complete grasping of the game you are attemping to sculpt into perfection!

Hoping you all the best of success within your game project,

Tenebres Itomori.

Hi, my name is Wilson Arimah. I am a 22-year-old writer with a specialty in science fiction, fantasy, and generally weird and wacky stories. I’ve always loved stories that don’t take themselves too seriously. Maybe that was just because I grew up watching things like Regular Show, The Amazing World of Gumball, and Adventure Time. Still, I also love when these weird and wacky stories have some narrative thread that ties them together. That’s why when I read your job post, I just thought, man this is perfect for me.

I would love to handle the writing, help build a story, and the tone of the dashboard, though I still feel there’s a lot of stuff that I would need to know about the game. I have a lot of questions I want to ask so if you have a Discord that we could talk on that would be amazing. Once I know more about the game itself, I would love to just be able to give you some very disappointed and specific samples made specifically for this game so I can see how well my writing would fit in your vision.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi there! My name is Brittany and I'm a narrative designer with three years experience and a Game Jam win under my belt for a visual novel called Novascal Virus. I've also made fully fleshed out cutscene dialogues, narrative bibles of world building, narrative barks, and more, I'll provide you with my portfolio below.

I would love to help write and build the story for dashboard and I am available to cut to the chase and get started on this with you. Along with being a narrative designer, I also do pixel art (see account for the pixel art)
