1.8 will release this month. Then there will be two more further major updates brining us to 2.0 which will be considered complete (Gold.)
There has been suggestions that there may be some further light patches after 2.0 but this will be things like bug fixes and maybe the inclusion of a Gallery, but this is speculative at this stage.
If you are asking if 1.8 is ready, most likely another week or two away.... Who knows.
