About the Project

Danganronpa: Kill Thrill is a full-scale fan game set within the Aurora Rehabilitation Institute, a psychological facility buried in the Antarctic tundra.

The story follows a new cast of “Ultimates” forced into a warped system of reform through despair, orchestrated by the facility’s mysterious warden and the mechanical overseer Monotora.

The project explores order versus chaos, guilt, and the human instinct for survival—melding cinematic storytelling, dark psychological tones, and emotional character arcs in the spirit of Danganronpa while presenting an entirely original world and cast.

Positions Needed

We’re seeking dedicated volunteers who love narrative-driven games, mysteries, and collaboration. This project is entirely non-profit and created for fans, by fans.

Unity Programmer (High Priority)

  • Proficient in C# and Unity 2D systems.
  • Experience with visual novel mechanics (dialogue boxes, branching paths, save/load systems).
  • Comfortable implementing UI transitions, scene changes, and simple camera logic.
  • Bonus: knowledge of integrating sprites, audio, and text sequences.

Story Writer / Narrative Collaborator

  • Strong grasp of character-driven dialogue and psychological storytelling.
  • Familiar with the structure of Danganronpa (daily life → investigation → trial).
  • Ability to collaborate using an existing world bible and character outlines.
  • Flexible and open to creative brainstorming sessions.

Sprite and CG Artist

  • Skilled in anime-inspired art and expressive character designs.
  • Able to produce layered PNGs with emotion sets compatible with Unity.
  • Optional: background art or UI element design experience.

Composer / Audio Designer

  • Passion for dynamic, emotional soundtracks—from tense trials to melancholic ambience.
  • Comfortable producing looping tracks and atmospheric sound effects for Unity.

  • Voice acting auditions (some roles filled)
  • Core facility design, logos, and environmental references
  • Ongoing intake interview scripts and lore development (as part of the Aurora Files prequel series)
