Big update today. The game is now fully playable in your browser on itch.io. I've moved away from the downloadable client approach because honestly, it was creating too many barriers for people who just wanted to try the game. Now you can jump in immediately without downloading anything.
What's New
Desert Birdie & Desert Wars Chapter I
Added a new character to the roster: Desert Birdie. He's a physical tank with some interesting CC mechanics. His ultimate, Chain Reaction, has this spreading stun effect that chains between enemies as the duration ticks down - if you time it right in multi-enemy fights, you can lock down an entire team. His passive makes him tankier the more debuffs he has on him, which creates some interesting risk-reward gameplay.
There's also a new story campaign called Desert Wars Chapter I. It's designed for Desert-tagged characters and has recruit stages where you can build your team as you progress through the battles.
Main Menu Overhaul
Completely rebuilt the main menu interface. The old one was functional but felt cluttered and confusing. The new one is cleaner, more responsive, and actually explains what you're looking at. Character tooltips now show difficulty ratings and combo information, which should help newer players figure out which characters to start with.
Balance Changes
This patch includes a pretty substantial balance pass.

Halloween Event
The Halloween event is still running for another 2 weeks. If you haven't checked it out yet, now's a good time. You can unlock some limited-time cosmetics.
Economy & Progression
Just want to clarify how the economy works since I've seen some questions about it: everything in the game is completely free to unlock. Lootboxes you get from completing story missions can drop FM (Fighter Money), which is the in-game currency. You use FM to buy skins from the daily shop rotation. There's no real money involved - you can't spend money on this game even if you wanted to (yet). Everything is earned by playing for now.
I'm still iterating on balance based on feedback, so if something feels off or broken, speak up. These balance patches are mostly based on what you all have been reporting.
